📰News
🚧 Fort Wayne Public Works announced that Paulding Road is closed from Sept. 2 until mid-December between Hoagland and Noll avenues, near Bishop Luers High School. The closure also includes the Calhoun Street intersection. The shutdown is part of a reconstruction project with storm sewer improvements and aims to improve pedestrian connectivity, traffic safety, efficiency, and the neighborhood’s appearance. The project is included in the city’s $41.4 million 2025 infrastructure plan. Read more from WANE 15 here.
🏙️ City Attorney Malak Heiny, joined by Kelly Lundberg and Amanda Fall, sent a letter Tuesday addressing Fort Wayne councilmembers’ concerns about downtown homeless encampments. The letter explained current enforcement, cleanup efforts, and future plans, including a possible low- to zero-barrier day shelter, more overnight beds, and supportive housing. Cleanup efforts have already cost more than $76,000 since last year, with 99 encampment calls made to 311 in 2025. Heiny emphasized the need for both enforcement and shelter alternatives, noting the city is pursuing state opioid settlement funds to expand resources. Councilmen Russ Jehl and Scott Myers called the response lacking, saying it dismissed ideas from President Trump and Gov. Newsom. Read More From WANE 15 Here.
📚 The Allen County Public Library introduced a limited edition card Tuesday featuring Icy D. Eagle, the Fort Wayne Komets mascot, in celebration of National Library Card Sign-Up Month. Komets players joined story time at the Tecumseh Branch for the launch. The new card also comes with exclusive discounts at local businesses, restaurants, and entertainment venues. Available while supplies last, the card is free for all Allen County residents and those who work or study in the county. Read more from WANE 15 here.
🚔 Fort Wayne police took a man into custody just before 7 p.m. Monday after responding to reports of a mental health crisis in the 1400 block of Kitch Street. The man, believed to be armed, was barricaded inside his home since 3:30 p.m. Multiple crews, including the Emergency Services Team, Crisis Response Team, and Ariel Support Unit, were on scene. No injuries were reported, and the man was transported to a local hospital for a mental health evaluation. Police confirmed there is no threat to the public. Read more from WANE 15 here.
🏫 The Indiana Secured School Safety Board approved more than $27.1 million to improve safety across 494 schools and districts. Since 2013, the state has allocated over $214 million to the program. Gov. Mike Braun called school safety a top priority, emphasizing secure learning environments. Nearly $20 million of the new funds will support school resource officers and law enforcement in schools. The grant program provides matching funds for equipment, technology, and firearms training, with first-time applicants receiving full funding for their top requests. Charter groups are capped at $100,000, while other schools receive 92% funding for priority items. Read more from WTHI-TV here.
🧥 Clothes For Joes is seeking volunteers this Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. to assist at their veteran’s store. Volunteers will support lead staff by restocking shelves, hanging and folding clothing, sorting items, receiving donations, and preparing goods for partner charities. Cleaning and general upkeep are also part of the role. The position requires mostly standing, with some seated options available, and lifting up to 25 lbs. Read more from Volunteer Fort Wayne here.
How 433 Investors Unlocked 400X Return Potential
Institutional investors back startups to unlock outsized returns. Regular investors have to wait. But not anymore. Thanks to regulatory updates, some companies are doing things differently.
Take Revolut. In 2016, 433 regular people invested an average of $2,730. Today? They got a 400X buyout offer from the company, as Revolut’s valuation increased 89,900% in the same timeframe.
Founded by a former Zillow exec, Pacaso’s co-ownership tech reshapes the $1.3T vacation home market. They’ve earned $110M+ in gross profit to date, including 41% YoY growth in 2024 alone. They even reserved the Nasdaq ticker PCSO.
The same institutional investors behind Uber, Venmo, and eBay backed Pacaso. And you can join them. But not for long. Pacaso’s investment opportunity ends September 18.
Paid advertisement for Pacaso’s Regulation A offering. Read the offering circular at invest.pacaso.com. Reserving a ticker symbol is not a guarantee that the company will go public. Listing on the NASDAQ is subject to approvals.
