Cunningham Restaurant Group, proud of its community ties, looks forward to continued growth, says VP Robert Gannaway. Their Bru Burger Bar, a local favorite, earned top honors in 2022 as Indiana’s best burger by Reader’s Digest and was named one of America’s top 100 burgers by Food Network.

🛼The Roller Dome North goes up for sale

After 75 years, Fort Wayne’s iconic Roller Dome North is up for sale at $3.7 million, marking the end of an era for the Wall family. Built in 1950 by WWII veteran Jim Wall, the rink holds decades of cherished memories. Despite the sale, the Roller Dome remains open for now. Read more here

🚓Fort Wayne Police swarm street east of downtown for standoff

A standoff near downtown Fort Wayne ended tragically when a man, after hours of negotiation with police, shot himself following threats of suicide by cop. Despite efforts by SWAT and crisis negotiators, the man sustained life-threatening injuries and was hospitalized. The incident occurred on Liberty Street Friday afternoon. Full story here

🚤Harris Boats building company’s 1st all-electric pontoon boats at Fort Wayne plant

Harris Boats has unveiled its first all-electric pontoon, the Cruiser e-210, crafted at its Fort Wayne facility. Powered by a Mercury® Avator™ 35e Outboard, the e-210 offers the same luxury and comfort as its gas-powered counterparts, marking a significant step in Harris’s move towards electric boating.

🚽City Council delays funding for downtown Port-a-Loos

The Fort Wayne City Council delayed funding for downtown public restrooms, known as Portland Loos, citing a need for more details. Concerns about location, costs, and safety led to the removal of the $900,000 line item. Council members requested a revised proposal addressing these issues before reconsidering approval.

Fort Wayne City Council approved two major projects: a Leesburg Road roundabout to enhance traffic flow and safety, and a $2.1 million overhaul of Brewer Park, adding new amenities like a pavilion and splash pad. 👚lululemon website indicates ‘pop-up’ store heading to Jefferson Pointe

TinCaps rack up season-high 19 hits in win

The TinCaps exploded with a season-high 19 hits in a 10-6 victory over the Lansing Lugnuts, led by Kai Murphy, Devin Ortiz, and Tyler Robertson, each notching four hits. Braden Nett pitched five strong innings, and all nine TinCaps batters contributed to the win. Next up: August 31 @ Lansing. Read more here
