🎗️Firefighter killed in Trump rally remembered by sister at Fort4Fitness
Dawn Comperatore-Schafer traveled from Pennsylvania to Fort Wayne to honor her brother, Corey, who was killed at a Trump rally, by walking in the Fort4Fitness 10k. Carrying a customized flag, Dawn participated through Flags4Fallen, symbolizing Corey’s life and sharing his story beyond the tragedy. Full Story Here
🏦4 Fort Wayne strip malls to be auctioned after owner faces fraud charges
Four Fort Wayne strip malls will be auctioned on Oct. 8 following fraud charges against their owner, Jonathan Larmore. The SEC alleges Larmore misused investor funds for luxury purchases. Despite the auction, businesses like Starbucks and Longe Optical expect no impact on their operations during the ownership change. Read more here
🥷Fort Wayne Hitman gets 30 years for trying to kill federal witness
A Fort Wayne man, Henry Underwood, was sentenced to 30 years for attempting to kill a federal witness in 2018. Hired by a gang member, Underwood shot the victim multiple times, but they survived. His new sentence follows an eight-year prison term for illegal gun possession. Read the full story here
🌪️Community repairs storm-damaged houses, corrals chickens
After a storm damaged eight structures in LaGrange County, the community rallied to help rebuild. At Dutch Country Organics, 28,000 chickens were safely contained, and debris was cleared. Neighbors also gathered to restore a home, working long hours with no pay, demonstrating the community’s strength and support. Full story here
🚗250 Fort Wayne GM employees could lose jobs
Up to 250 part-time workers at Fort Wayne's General Motors plant may be laid off due to contract issues preventing the use of permanent part-time positions. The UAW suggests GM could resolve the issue by converting some roles to full-time, but no agreement has been reached. Read the full story here
🦒Fort Wayne Zoo reveals name for baby giraffe
The Fort Wayne Zoo's newest giraffe, born on August 16, has been named Mila after a winning bid at the zoo's "Zoobilee" auction. Already 6 feet tall and 240 pounds, Mila is described as sweet and curious, spending time bonding with her mother and two-year-old giraffes, Mystic and Lily. Read more here

🥑Opening date set for Fort Wayne’s newest Aldi store
A new ALDI store is coming to northeast Fort Wayne in 2024! Set to open at Dupont Road and Dupont Oaks Boulevard, the 20,000-square-foot store will bring more savings and convenience to local shoppers. Construction is expected to be complete by March. In a thrilling inaugural season of high school girls flag football, South Side edged out Snider 20-19 at Jack Weicker Stadium. Bry’lee Diedrich-Williams caught the game-winning touchdown from sister Bri’Tanya in the final minutes, highlighting a promising start for girls flag football in Fort Wayne and Indiana.

Octoberfest Celebration of Brats, Beers, and Bavarian Music

Pumpkin Path Display
