🏋️The Skyline YMCA on South Harrison Street is being renamed the Weigand Family YMCA following a donation from the Weigand family. The facility will also offer 24-hour access starting in late November after minor construction updates. Members 18 and older can add this feature for $4.99 per month, with a free first month during the presale. The Weigand family’s partnership continues their legacy of supporting community health and growth. Read more from WANE 15 here.

🎪 The Northside Neighborhood Association is hosting its final Northside Night Out Food Truck Rally of the year Monday from 5–7:30 p.m. at Lakeside Park. Guests can enjoy eats from Drop It Like It’s Tot, Big Hungry BBQ, Whip & Chill, and Another One Bites The Crust FW. City staff will also gather feedback on proposed traffic flow changes in East State Village. The event is open to the public and family-friendly, with games and activities available. 🍴Jared Crozier turned his passion for food and travel into a full-time career through On Forks to Forks, a restaurant review page combining his love for motorcycles and dining. His reviews focus on building connections with local restaurants, helping them with marketing, and growing a community of food lovers. 🎭 Grammy and Tony Award winner Heather Headley will return to Fort Wayne in November to lead a free weekend masterclass for Allen County high school students at The Pearl Street Arts Center. The three-day workshop, running November 7–9, will focus on music and theater. Headley, a Northrop High School graduate, said she wants to give back to the community that supported her journey. 🚧 A one-mile section of the Pufferbelly Trail is closed Monday for asphalt crack sealing. The affected area runs from Carroll Road to Dupont Road, and trail users are asked to avoid it during the work. City crews expect the closure to last throughout the day, with no reopening time announced. Read more from WANE 15 here.

🚓Fort Wayne Police responded to a crash Sunday evening around 6:40 p.m. on East Coliseum Boulevard near Coldwater Road. Eastbound lanes were closed, and one southbound lane on Coldwater remained open as of 7:24 p.m. Allen County Dispatch confirmed all involved had non-life-threatening injuries while crews worked to clear the scene. 🏍️ A motorcyclist was hospitalized in life-threatening condition Sunday night after a crash at East State Boulevard and Tonawanda Trail. Police said the accident involved one car and a motorcycle, with speed believed to be a factor. The Fort Wayne Police Department’s Fatal Accident Crash Team was called to the scene due to the severity of the injuries. Read more from WANE 15 here.

⚖️ A judge sentenced Jourdan Hudson to 61 years in prison, with 30 years suspended to probation, for a 2024 crash on I-69 that killed her sister and a 6-year-old child. Investigators said Hudson was driving over 100 mph when her SUV hit a guardrail and flipped, ejecting several passengers. Hudson pleaded guilty to multiple counts of neglect of a dependent and operating a vehicle causing death, while other charges were dismissed. Read more from WANE 15 here.

🏒 The Fort Wayne Komets kicked off training camp Monday for their 74th season under head coach Jesse Kallechy at the PSM Icehouse, as the War Memorial Coliseum undergoes ice plant replacement. The team will play a free exhibition game against Iowa on Sunday at Trine University’s Thunder Ice Arena. The Komets begin the regular season with 11 straight road games, opening October 19 at the Indy Fuel, before returning home November 21 to face Bloomington. Read more from WANE 15 here.
