💨 Parkview Health is promoting awareness ahead of National Lung Cancer Screening Day on November 8 by expanding screening access across its hospitals. The initiative aims to detect cancer earlier through low-dose CT scans, which take only 10–15 minutes and are covered by most insurance plans, with financial help available for those in need. Parkview’s Alan Yahanda, MD, emphasized early detection as key to improving survival rates and encouraged smokers and older adults to get screened. Screenings will be held Saturday at multiple Parkview locations, with walk-in options available at several sites. Read more from WANE 15 here.

🎗️ Fort Wayne–based Master Spas announced that its Summer of St. Jude campaign raised more than $310,000, surpassing its $250,000 goal. The three-month effort, which ran from July through September, united dealers and employees nationwide to support St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital during Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. The funds help ensure families never receive bills for treatment, travel, housing, or food. The campaign is part of Master Spas Cares, the company’s charitable giving initiative. 🏫 Voters in the Northwest Allen County Schools district are deciding on an eight-year operating referendum during the November 4 election, the only local vote in Northeast Indiana this year. The measure proposes a property-tax rate of up to $0.2787 per $100 of assessed value, generating up to $12.16 million annually. For a $350,000 home, that could mean about $505 per year. Funds would support staffing, pay, safety, and a new career and technical education facility. The referendum tax is exempt from Indiana’s standard property-tax caps. Read more from WFFT here.

💸 Open Enrollment for 2026 Affordable Care Act coverage began November 1 and runs through January 15, 2026, with a December 15 deadline for coverage starting January 1. Indiana residents could see major premium increases next year as temporary “enhanced” tax credits expire. For example, a two-person household earning $85,000 in Allen County currently pays about $602 a month for a Silver plan, but without the credits in 2026, similar households may no longer qualify for premium assistance.
