🎬 Patrons can give back to the Fort Wayne community by seeing Wicked: For Good at the Cinema Center and donating to Amani Family Services, YWCA Northeast Indiana, or both. Donations earn a free popcorn and a free month membership for new members. The donation drive runs from November 20 to December 7. Show times and tickets vary by day. Read more from WANE 15 here.
⚡Indiana Michigan Power (I&M) received approval from the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission to acquire the Oregon Clean Energy Center, an 870 MW natural gas plant in Oregon, Ohio. The acquisition, part of I&M’s Future Ready plan, follows FERC approval in October and is expected to close in March 2026. The plant will help meet growing energy demand and diversify I&M’s generation portfolio, which already includes nuclear, solar, wind, coal, and hydroelectric units. Read more from PRNewswire here.
🏗️Fort Wayne has chosen Price Brothers Development to lead the 29-acre North River site redevelopment. Plans include a 160,000-square-foot fieldhouse for youth and adaptive sports, along with housing, a hotel, restaurants, and retail. The city has secured $3 million in state and federal grants for cleanup, and the project is expected to create roughly 900 construction jobs. Price Brothers will spend about a year planning and consulting with the community. Read more from WFFT here.
🚛A box truck became stuck in the underpass on Lindenwood Avenue near Jefferson Boulevard, blocking traffic. No other vehicles were involved and no injuries were reported. Drivers are advised to seek alternate routes until the truck is removed. Read more from WANE 15 here.
🏠Bone Dry Roofing replaced the roof on the home of U.S. Air Force veteran Robert Tyree at no cost, through the Owens Corning Roof Deployment Project, which helps veterans in need. The Tyrees were nominated after a leak appeared on their back porch, and the project honors Robert’s 20 years of military service. The new roof provides safety and relief for the family. ⚽The Allen County Board of Zoning Appeals approved Fort Wayne Football Club’s request for a 3,945 sq ft billboard on the back of the future stadium’s scoreboard, with 1,000 sq ft digital. INDOT required no distracting animations and the digital section to stay under 1,000 sq ft. Developers can also install taller light posts and additional signage. Construction at 6411 Bass Road is expected to finish by March 2026. Read more from WANE 15 here.
💛Youth for Christ northern Indiana kicked off its “We Believe in You(th)” campaign to support and uplift local youth. The initiative raises funds for city life, juvenile justice, and campus life ministries, aiming for a $750,000 goal—nearly $500,000 has been raised so far. Adults are encouraged to show support through social media using #WBIYweek and by sharing messages of encouragement. The campaign runs through November 21. Read more from WANE 15 here.
🚔A short police chase ended when a pickup truck crashed into a home in the Papermill Bluffs neighborhood Wednesday night. The driver, who was alone, was pronounced dead at the scene. No one inside the house was hurt. FWPD’s FACT Team and the Allen County Coroner’s Office are investigating; the driver’s identity and cause of death will be released later. 🚨On November 19, 2025, Fort Wayne police pursued a white multi-purpose school bus after it was tailgating a patrol car on N. Coliseum Blvd. and Pontiac St. No students were on board. The chase ended behind a local business, where the driver initially refused to exit. Police units, including Emergency Services, Crisis Response, and Air Support, responded. The driver was taken into custody and sent for a medical evaluation. Read more from WFFT here.
⚖️ Jalesha McCloud filed a lawsuit against Fort Wayne Police officers and the City after her father, John McCloud, was shot and killed during a September 2024 burglary. Officer Julien Mestre shot McCloud four times, and Officer James Nabors later arrived. The Allen County Prosecutor deemed the shooting justified, but the lawsuit claims excessive force, delayed life-saving measures, and policy failures by the city. McCloud’s daughter is seeking monetary compensation for medical, funeral, and other damages. Read more from WANE 15 here.

🏀 Concordia High School senior Alivia Bolinger, a 6’1” wing, signed with Purdue Fort Wayne to play Division I basketball next season. Bolinger, who committed in August, averaged 17.6 points, 5.6 rebounds, 2.2 assists, 2.1 steals, and 1.3 blocks per game as a junior.
