🏓 Ace Pickleball Club has left its Fort Wayne location at Spiece Fieldhouse as of October 27. The facility is now under new management and renamed Power Courts, run by Chuck McNulty of Power Up Action Park. Many former APC employees will continue working at the site. The facility offers three membership tiers from $29.99 to $89.99 per month, with perks like court access, programming, walking track use, and discounts at Power Up Action Park. ❄️ A Sunday snowstorm brought Northeast Indiana’s first snow of the season, causing multiple power outages across the region. As of 9:45 a.m., Indiana Michigan Power reported about 700 outages, mainly in Fort Wayne, Spencerville, and Butler, while Steuben and DeKalb Counties reported roughly 1,000 outages. DeKalb officials noted that Garrett Electric is aware of the situation and is working to restore power. Read more from WANE 15 here.
🍔 After a year-long hiatus, the McRib sandwich is returning to McDonald’s restaurants in Fort Wayne on November 11 for a limited time. The iconic sandwich features a seasoned boneless pork patty with BBQ sauce, slivered onions, and dill pickles on a homestyle bun. 💊 Dr. Jarrod Wiegman of Indiana Direct Primary Care in Fort Wayne offers a subscription-based healthcare model where one monthly fee gives patients same-day appointments, longer visits, after-hours access, and low-cost prescriptions. His office limits patients to 500 for more personalized care and includes a fitness center to support preventative health. 🍽️ Glick Philanthropies donated $7,500 to Community Harvest Food Bank on November 7, 2025, providing 30,000 meals for families across nine Northeast Indiana counties amid record demand, rising grocery costs, and a pause on SNAP benefits. The funds will support programs including the mobile Farm Wagon pantry, Hope for Heroes for veterans, and the on-site Community Cupboard. CHFB President & CEO Carmen Cumberland expressed gratitude for the donation, while Engagement Manager Adam Roby noted the community’s generosity during this critical time. 🏍️ The Warrior Breed Motorcycle Club (WBMC) dedicated a 45-foot stainless steel flagpole in Memorial Grove, Memorial Park to honor World War I veterans. This is the second phase of their MP-125 initiative, which began in 2018 with the planting of 125 trees commemorating Allen County WWI service members. WBMC, a nonprofit veteran-based motorcycle club, focuses on supporting veterans with PTSD, traumatic brain injuries, and suicide prevention. Read more from WANE 15 here.
⚖️ A jury found 28-year-old Breshawn Smith guilty of murder, two counts of attempted murder, criminal recklessness, and using a firearm in a crime for the November 2024 shooting at Showgirl I gentlemen’s club that killed 26-year-old Marialuz Margarita Munoz and injured two others. Smith fired over 20 shots from a car driven by William Tolbert, who earlier entered a plea agreement. Smith faces over 100 years if sentenced to the maximum; sentencing is set for Dec. 11, 2025, while Tolbert’s sentencing is scheduled for Nov. 21, 2025. Read more from WANE 15 here.
🚨 Fort Wayne police responded Friday afternoon to a shooting at a McDonald’s on South Anthony Boulevard. A man was shot by a woman in the drive-thru around 2:45 p.m. and was hospitalized in serious condition but is now stable. The female suspect is in custody. Police are investigating a possible confrontation between the two, and several witnesses have come forward.
