• The annual Waynedale Memorial Day Parade took place May 25 starting at Wayne Dale United Methodist Church and ending at Prairie Grove Cemetery with a memorial ceremony.

SWAT, Police Respond To Mental Health Crisis In Northwest Fort Wayne
• Fort Wayne Police responded to reports of a suspicious person at Ridgebrook Mobile Home Park on Washington Center Road around 11:30 a.m. Monday.
• The department’s Public Safety Response Team, also known as SWAT, was called to assist with the situation involving a mental health crisis.
• Part of West Street was closed to vehicles while the response continued, with limited details released.

Crowds Gather For Fort Wayne Memorial Day Parade Traditions
• People lined Parnell Avenue on May 25 to watch the Fort Wayne Memorial Day Parade organized by the Allen County Council of Veteran Organizations.

VFW Post 857 Rededicates Memorial To Include Afghanistan And Iraq Wars
• VFW Post 857 in Fort Wayne rededicated its memorial on May 25 to add the war in Afghanistan and the Second Gulf War to the monument.
• The memorial originally was dedicated in 2001 and previously recognized conflicts from World War I through the Persian Gulf conflict.
