Expect a mostly cloudy day with scattered showers rolling through the area. Temperatures will reach a warm 74°F with moderate humidity and a gentle breeze from the southeast. With a moderate UV index, it’s still smart to apply sunscreen if you're outdoors. As night falls, early thunderstorms may give way to partly cloudy skies and a low around 60°F. Keep an umbrella handy just in case the rain lingers!

⛴️ Sweet Breeze Canal tours are back in Fort Wayne! Starting May 24, you can enjoy historic boat tours on the Sweet Breeze Canal, with options like wine tastings and live music on board. Don’t miss out on this unique way to explore the city’s history. Read more from WFFT here.

🎒 Eight ACPL libraries will distribute free bags of food every Friday from May 30 to July 25 for kids 18 and under. In partnership with Blessings in a Backpack, nearly 11,000 students will be supported this summer ensuring no child goes hungry over the weekend. Read more from WFFT here.

🏠 Fort Wayne’s rising home prices are now increasing property tax bills, with May 12 marking the payment deadline. Local realtors cite national housing shortages and high demand for driving prices up. Buyers remain active despite higher costs. Read more from WANE 15 here.

🛠️ Fort Wayne’s “dream team” planners just got the green light for two major neighborhood plans, East Central Forward and Northwest 2035. With over 1,200 residents involved, the block-by-block vision includes safer streets, better parks, and stronger community ties. It’s one step closer to becoming part of the city’s master plan. 🏙️ The North River project in Fort Wayne has attracted 20 developers, with plans for a sports fieldhouse, constructing housing, a hotel, restaurant, and retail spaces. Although the city rejected offers to sell the land to Chuck Surack and Daryle Doden, discussions continue to collaborate on the project’s development. Read more from WANE 15 here.

🐦 Indiana is experiencing a peak in bird migration, with 16 million birds flying over the state in one night. This surge, driven by cooler air at night and fewer predators, helps birds avoid overheating. Turning off outdoor lights at night can assist in their journey. Read more from WANE 15 here.

⚠️ Allen County Coroner has identified Edward Eugene Keller IV, 25, as the motorcyclist killed in a crash on US 30 Saturday night. The collision with a car at US 30 and Kroemer Road led to Keller’s death from blunt force injuries. Speed and alcohol were not factors. 🔫 Fort Wayne man, Andre Lee, 44, has been charged with attempted murder and aggravated battery after a shooting on May 8. The victim, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, was hospitalized with severe injuries. Police arrested Lee on Monday after identifying him as the suspect. Read more from WFFT here.
