🚗 A crash near mile-marker 317 on I-69 caused a temporary lane closure and traffic backup Monday near Union Chapel Road. A tow truck removed a pickup from a ditch, and traffic resumed shortly after. Read more from WANE 15 here.
🎭 Broadway at the Embassy revealed its largest season yet, featuring seven shows including The Book of Mormon, Mrs. Doubtfire, Kinky Boots, CLUE, Beetlejuice, The Music Man, and Spamalot. Season ticket packages start at $225. Read more from WANE 15 here.
⚽ Fort Wayne FC began its season with a 2-0 win over Sueno FC, honoring soccer moms on Mother’s Day. Fans celebrated with stories, including one mom-son duo’s lifelong love of the game. Read more from WANE 15 here.
🚨 The Red Cross of Northeast Indiana needs volunteers for its “Sound the Alarm” campaign on May 17 to install free smoke detectors in homes. No experience is necessary—training will be provided on-site. Read more from 21Alive News here.
🧹 Cesar Anzaldua, Facility Manager at First Wayne Street United Methodist Church, was honored as an “Unsung Hero” for his tireless dedication and servant leadership. Known for his faith, kindness, and work ethic, Cesar inspires his entire community. Read more from WANE 15 here.
🌸 Lindenwood Nature Preserve invited moms to enjoy a scenic picnic and wildflower hike on Mother’s Day. The 110-acre preserve features rare flora, 80 bird species, and a relaxing guided stroll starting at the campfire circle. Read more from WANE 15 here.
🏍️ A motorcyclist died late Saturday after a crash with a car at U.S. 30 and Kromer Road. Medics attempted lifesaving measures, but the rider died at the scene. Speed and alcohol are not believed to be factors. Read more from WFFT here.

🏒 The Komets' season ended in a 5-3 loss to Toledo in game six of the Central Division Finals. Despite the exit, the team celebrated a strong postseason run after missing the playoffs last year. Fans can celebrate the season at Tuesday’s annual Charity Jersey Auction at the Coliseum’s Expo Hall 2. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., bidding starts at 7 p.m., and admission is free.
