A warm and breezy day is on tap with mostly sunny skies and a high near 69°F, flirting with record warmth for early March. Gusty SW winds at 15–25 mph will keep the air moving—perfect for flying a kite or enjoying a brisk afternoon walk. Tonight, skies stay mostly clear early before a few clouds drift in, with a mild low around 54°F and steady SSW winds at 10–20 mph under the waning gibbous moon.

I-469 Pavement Replacement Begins This Week
• Work starts March 9 on I-469 between Wheelock Road and U.S. 24 affecting southbound and northbound lanes.
• Lane shifts and width restrictions will be in place, and the westbound U.S. 24 on-ramp to northbound I-469 closes around March 16 for about a month.
• The southbound I-469 off-ramp to S.R. 37/Maysville Road will close one to two months after work starts and reopen two to three months later.

Proposed Quarry Near IU Health Campus Raises Local Concerns
• Heritage Group plans a quarry, industrial, and commercial development on about 824 acres south of U.S. 24 near IU Health.
• Residents worry about impacts on wells, traffic, and the environment, while IU Health cites concerns about noise and industrial activity affecting the hospital campus.
• Special use and rezoning approvals are needed, with hearings scheduled for April 15 and 16.

Early Morning Fire on Edgewater Avenue
• Fort Wayne Fire Department responded to a house fire on the 1000 block of Edgewater Avenue around 3 a.m. Sunday.
• The house was under renovation and empty, allowing firefighters to contain the blaze within 30 minutes without injuries.
• The cause of the fire is unknown and remains under investigation.

Ford Recalls Nearly 1.74 Million Vehicles Over Rearview Camera Problems
• Ford recalled about 849,310 Bronco and Edge vehicles because an infotainment component may overheat and prevent the rearview image from appearing.
• Another recall affects about 889,950 Escape, Corsair, Aviator and Explorer vehicles that may display a flipped or inverted rearview camera image.
• The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said the defects could increase crash risk, though Ford reports no related injuries or accidents.
