🎶Fort Wayne’s music community is mourning the loss of Gary Brabson, known as G. Money, who passed away May 31. He was a blues icon, host of the Monday Blues Jam at the Club Room at the Clyde since 2019, and founder of the G Money Band. The Clyde honored him with a marquee tribute, and WBOI’s Meet the Music hosted two tribute nights. 🚰Fort Wayne’s water may taste or smell unusual due to recent heavy rains increasing organic material in the system. As of June 6, City Utilities described the water as possibly “organic, swampy, grassy, sweet, medicinal, fishy or rancid.” Despite the taste, it is safe to drink. Read more from WANE 15 here.

🌱The Plant, Pick and Plate program started Friday at Johnnie Mae Farm in southeast Fort Wayne. It offers free, year-long classes for 5th to 9th graders to learn how to grow, harvest, and cook their own food. The program aims to combat childhood obesity by teaching lifelong healthy eating skills. Some produce grown is sold locally to help the food desert community. Classes run Tuesdays 1–2:30 p.m. this summer, alternating between gardening and cooking, with plans to continue year-round. You can find a link to apply for this program here. ⚰️Indiana Governor Mike Braun ceremoniously signed Senate Enrolled Act 520 to create a new resting place for veterans in Allen County at the Veterans National Memorial Shrine and Museum. The law waives a $100,000 state deposit for a columbarium by allowing sales of its 157 niches to fund upkeep through a dedicated trust. The bill was authored by State Sen. Justin Busch and supported by State Rep. Martin Carbaugh. The Shrine honors U.S. veterans with extensive memorials and artifacts. Read more from WANE 15 here.

⚠️The Allen County Coroner identified an 83-year-old Fort Wayne man, Baltazar Guzman, who died after being run over by his own vehicle.
