A hot and humid summer day with a mix of sunshine and passing clouds. Afternoon temperatures climb to around 92°F, while south-southwest winds of 10–20 mph provide a steady breeze. With humidity remaining high and the UV index reaching very high levels, it will feel quite warm during the afternoon, so sun protection and hydration are recommended. The evening stays warm and muggy under partly cloudy skies, with overnight temperatures settling near 74°F beneath the light of the full moon.

City Of Fort Wayne Moves Trash Pickup Earlier On Hot Days
• The City of Fort Wayne says garbage and recycling collection may begin one hour earlier on certain days.
• GFL Environmental will start pickups at 5 a.m. when temperatures are forecast to reach at least 90°F.
• Residents are advised to place bins out the evening before to ensure collection is not missed.

Michelin To Consolidate BFGoodrich Tire Production In Fort Wayne
• Michelin North America plans to move “nearly all” BFGoodrich tire production to its Fort Wayne plant.
• Production at the Tuscaloosa, Alabama plant will gradually wind down and is expected to end by late 2028.
• About 1,200 employees at the Tuscaloosa site are expected to be affected by the consolidation.

Two Civil War Memorials Dedicated At Veterans National Shrine And Museum
• A bench and an “Old Guard” plaque were dedicated Saturday at the Veterans National Shrine and Museum in Fort Wayne.
• The memorials honor Indiana soldiers who served in the Civil War, including members of the 44th Infantry unit from Northeast Indiana.
• The granite bench was donated in memory of all Hoosiers who served during the Civil War and is placed in Memorial Park.

• The Fort Wayne Police Department is seeking information on a fatal hit-and-run in the 6700 block of Maysville Road.
• Investigators believe the crash occurred between 11:30 p.m. on June 18 and 3:15 a.m. on June 19.
• The victim, identified by the coroner as Donsia Lamont Kizer, was found unconscious and later pronounced dead at the scene.
