Several Road Projects Kick Off Across Fort Wayne On Monday
• Multiple road projects will begin Monday across Fort Wayne and Allen County, bringing full closures and lane restrictions on several major roads.

• Officials reported hundreds of drainage complaints this spring, with many issues linked to debris blocking storm drains across the city.

• Turnstone’s 7th annual Push Paddle Pedal challenge began June 1 and continues through July 31 in Fort Wayne.
• Participants are encouraged to complete 1,000 minutes of movement, with any type of exercise counting toward the goal.
• A $25 registration fee includes a T-shirt and pin, with proceeds supporting Turnstone programs for people with disabilities.

New Fort Wayne Organization Hosts Bourbon & Blue Fundraiser
• Bourbon & Blue is raising money for the Core Leadership Academy, a nonprofit that provides leadership training designed for first responders.

Fort Wayne Boy’s Lemonade Stand Raises Hundreds For Law Enforcement
• Mason’s Lemonade Stand in Fort Wayne raised money to help the Fort Wayne Police Department purchase toys for children in emergency situations.
• The stand collected $800 for the police department, which was used during a shopping trip for comfort items at local stores and vendors.
• The fundraiser brought in $1,004 total, with additional donations from local businesses and extra support from Well Family Chiropractic.

Coroner Identifies Pedestrian Killed In Friday Hit And Run Crash On Maysville Road
• The Allen County Coroner’s Office identified the pedestrian killed in a Friday hit-and-run crash near Kreager Park as 49-year-old Donsia Lamont Kizer of Fort Wayne.
• The crash happened around 3 a.m. Friday at the intersection of Maysville Road and Lake Forest Drive, according to the Fort Wayne Police Department.
• Police said the driver fled the scene after the crash, and the investigation into the manner of death is still ongoing.

Murder Charge Dropped For Man Involved In January Shooting
• Johnny Rowe pleaded guilty to assisting a criminal in connection with Allen County’s first homicide of 2026.
• Rowe originally faced murder and robbery charges tied to a January shooting at a Fort Wayne home that left 31-year-old Khiry Van Wilkens dead.
• Under a plea deal, Rowe could receive 1 to 6 years in prison, and the remaining charges will be dismissed if accepted by a judge at sentencing on August 6.

Teen Pleads Guilty To Murder Of 86-Year-Old Woman
• Devon Stewart Jr., 19, pleaded guilty to murdering 86-year-old Alice Hall in a June 2025 Fort Wayne shooting.
• Stewart agreed to a deal calling for a 55-year prison sentence, with firearm enhancement charges dropped if accepted by a judge.
• Court records say Stewart was arrested along with another teen, and a co-defendant previously pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit murder.
