A cooler and more comfortable day with a few early showers and isolated thunderstorms possible as the day progresses. Temperatures reach around 73°F, while west-southwest winds of 10–15 mph help keep humidity in check. Rain chances remain relatively low, and there should be dry periods mixed with clouds and occasional sunshine. The evening turns quieter with partly to mostly cloudy skies and a refreshing overnight low near 55°F.

• Healthways Alliance will host a community health fair on Saturday, June 27.
• The event will feature more than 25 vendors offering resources on chronic disease, mental health, and wellness.

Dupont Road Lane Closure Scheduled for Utility Repairs
• Eastbound Dupont Road between Diebold Road and Oak Xing will close for four days starting Monday.
• Local access traffic will still be allowed through the affected section during the closure.
• One lane is expected to reopen by June 25, with full reopening planned for June 29.

RiverDrums 2026 Coming To Fort Wayne
• Fort Wayne RiverDrums will feature cultural drumming, music, dance, and performance art at Promenade Park on Wednesday.
• The event runs from 4:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. and will include 10 different acts.

City Council Responds After Fort Wayne Homeless Shelter Funding Delay
• Fort Wayne City Council said it wants a public forum before moving forward with a vote on funding a proposed downtown homeless shelter.
• A letter obtained by 21Alive News outlined five requests from council members, including a public forum and additional planning requirements.
• The council also requested a real estate professional review alternative shelter locations and agreed to fund up to $10,000 for the evaluation.

Fort Wayne City Utilities To Use Federal Grant To Launch Updated Lower St. Joseph Watershed Plan
• Fort Wayne City Utilities received a nearly $135,000 federal grant through the Indiana Department of Environmental Management’s Clean Water Act Section 205(j) program.
• The funding will support an updated plan to protect the Lower St. Joseph Watershed, which supplies drinking water to more than 300,000 people locally.
• The plan includes water quality monitoring at multiple sites and public outreach efforts such as workshops and educational events.

Indiana Republicans Nominate Max Engling For Secretary Of State At GOP Convention
• Republican delegates selected Max Engling as their nominee for Indiana Secretary of State at the Indiana GOP State Convention in Fort Wayne.
• Engling defeated incumbent Diego Morales and will face Democratic, Libertarian, and potentially independent candidates in the Nov. 3 general election.
• Party leaders emphasized unity after a contested nomination process and highlighted election administration and turnout as key campaign issues.

Fort Wayne Teacher Expands Film Work With New Local Production
• South Side High School teacher Bob Ahlersmeyer is filming a second feature titled “Washed up, Washed out.”
• His production company Brickstone Productions follows an earlier award-winning debut film that gained festival recognition.
• The new film is expected to wrap filming on June 22 and premiere in early winter.

Police Ask For Help To Track Down Man Accused Of Battery At Fort Wayne Store
• Fort Wayne police are searching for a man accused of battery at a store in the 3800 block of Coldwater Road on Saturday.
• A woman told police the man followed her while shopping, then allegedly inappropriately touched her before fleeing the store.
• Investigators say the suspect left in a vehicle heading southbound on Clinton Street and are asking the public for help identifying him.

One Injured In Southeast Fort Wayne Shooting
• Fort Wayne police responded to a shooting near Weisser Park Avenue and East Pontiac Street just before 2:30 a.m. Saturday.
• Officers found a man with a gunshot wound who was initially reported in life-threatening condition.
• Police later said the victim’s condition was upgraded to non-life-threatening, and the investigation is ongoing.

Man Dead After 2nd Southeast Fort Wayne Shooting In Two Days On The Same Block
• Fort Wayne police responded to a shooting at Weisser Park Avenue and East Pontiac Street at 2:16 a.m. Sunday.
• Officers found a man who was shot and performed aid at the scene before he was pronounced dead at the hospital.
• Police said the incident occurred within a block of another recent shooting but do not believe the two cases are linked.

Man Dead After Pedestrian Crash Near Kreager Park
• Fort Wayne Police say a man was killed in a pedestrian crash just after 3 a.m. Friday at the intersection of Maysville Road and Lake Forest Drive.
• Officers said they arrived and found the man lying on the side of the roadway.
• Police said the driver did not remain at the scene, and medics pronounced the man dead.

Kelly Cup Winning Coach Returns To Lead Komets
• Ben Boudreau has been named head coach of the Fort Wayne Komets after previously leading the team to a Kelly Cup championship in 2021.
• After leaving Fort Wayne in 2023, he spent two seasons coaching the Niagara IceDogs of the OHL and said his family ties to the city include three sons born there and a father who also coached the Komets in the 1990s.
• The team announced Jesse Kallechy would not return for the 2026 to 2027 season, and he was later named head coach and director of hockey operations for the South Carolina Stingrays, while the general manager praised Boudreau’s work ethic and recruiting ability.

• U.S. and Iranian negotiators traveled to Switzerland for Sunday talks after Tehran said it closed the Strait of Hormuz amid renewed fighting in Lebanon
• The U.S. disputed Iran’s claim, saying shipping through the strait continues and U.S. forces are monitoring more than 50 merchant transits carrying oil
• Iran warned the interim agreement could be jeopardized if Israel does not agree to a comprehensive ceasefire in Lebanon
