Monday brings a warm and pleasant day with partly sunny skies and a high of 83°F. Winds will be light and variable, coming from the east-southeast at around 6 mph. Humidity will be moderate at 68%, and the UV index is high, so sunscreen is a good idea if you're outdoors. Monday night stays partly cloudy, with a mild low around 66°F. Winds remain calm and humidity increases to 79%.

🍗Hot Chickz is thriving at 1716 E. Pontiac Street with its version of Nashville hot chicken, drawing crowds from across Fort Wayne without any advertising. Co-owner Adel Algermi credits family support and flavorful menu items, including the signature “number six” topped with secret sauce and mac and cheese. The location is part of ongoing revitalization efforts and is open daily from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., and until 11 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays. Read more from WANE 15 here.

🎡The Hoagland Days Festival returned from June 12 to 14 at the Hoagland Community Center. The celebration featured a carnival, demo derby, kiddie tractor pull, food tents, and live music. On Saturday, June 14, the festivities peaked with a parade at 11 a.m. including around 70 entries. Organizers say it's “probably the best festival in Allen County.” Read more from WANE 15 here.

🎭The Arena Dinner Theatre is now showing Big Fish from June 14 to June 28. Tickets are $50. This musical offers an evening of storytelling, music, and emotion, perfect for theater lovers. Read more from WANE 15 here.

🎉Greekfest is back at Headwaters Park from Thursday, June 19 to Sunday, June 22. The festival runs 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Thursday through Saturday and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday. Celebrate Fort Wayne’s vibrant food and culture scene at this annual summer tradition. Read more from WANE 15 here.

🎨The Covington Art Fair returns for its 33rd year next weekend at Covington Plaza on Jefferson Boulevard. Visitors can explore unique works from local, regional, and national artists. The fair runs Saturday June 21 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday June 22 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Read more from WANE 15 here.

🏛️All Fort Wayne city offices will be closed on Thursday, June 19 in observance of Juneteenth, the federal holiday commemorating the end of slavery in the United States. Due to the closure, garbage and recycling services will shift by one day: Thursday’s pickups will move to Friday, and Friday’s to Saturday. Regular hours will resume on Friday, June 20. On Saturday, June 14, about 5,000 people gathered at the Allen County Courthouse Lawn for the nationwide ‘No Kings’ protest, opposing President Trump’s leadership and policies. Organized by Indivisible Northeast Indiana, the event included signs criticizing cuts to healthcare, education, LGBTQ+ rights, and immigration policies. The peaceful rally also honored veterans and collected 25 bins of hygiene items for local food banks. Read more from WANE 15 here.

📦Fort Wayne and Angola are partnering with MakeMyMove to attract new residents through relocation incentives. Flourish in Fort Wayne offers $14,580 in perks like coworking space, memberships, and down payment assistance. Adventure Awaits in Angola totals $19,849, including $5,000 cash, free apartment rent, a YMCA membership, and more. 🔪An 11-year-old child is recovering after being stabbed in the abdomen by a man wearing a “Scream” mask in the Anthony Wayne Village neighborhood on Thursday, June 12. The incident happened around 1:30 p.m. at South Anthony Boulevard and Colonial Avenue. Police identified the suspect as 27-year-old Trayveon Sewell, who was taken into custody and charged with Criminal Recklessness with a Deadly Weapon. The child’s injuries were non-life-threatening. 🚗 Fort Wayne Police are investigating a fatal hit-and-run crash that happened around 10 p.m. on Saturday, June 14, near Paulding Road and Calhoun Street. Officers initially responded to reports of a person either shot or hit by a car. They later confirmed the victim had been struck in a hit-and-run crash and later died at the hospital. No details have been released about the vehicle or the victim. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact police or submit tips via the P3 app. Read more from WANE 15 here.

🚓 Fort Wayne Police responded to a shooting near 125 W. Main St. in downtown Fort Wayne just after 11 p.m. on Friday, June 13. One man was shot and transported to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. At least eight police vehicles were at the scene, but officers said the large response was due to the location, not the severity of the incident. No suspect information has been released.

Parkview Field welcomed a sellout crowd of 7,499 fans on Saturday, June 14, marking the fifth sellout of the season. Despite the packed stands, the Fort Wayne TinCaps dropped both games of the doubleheader against the South Bend Cubs, falling 3–1 in game one and 4–0 in game two. Read more from MLB here.
