A cooler and more unsettled day with mostly cloudy skies and occasional showers developing at times. Temperatures reach a comfortable 77°F, while west-northwest winds and increased cloud cover keep conditions feeling mild. A few additional showers may develop later Tuesday night as clouds thicken, with temperatures dropping to around 55°F for a cool overnight period.

Coroner Identifies Spy Run Creek Doe Through DNA Analysis
• The Allen County Coroner’s Office identified the woman found in Spy Run Creek as 37-year-old Sarah Elisabeth Martin of Fort Wayne
• Her remains were discovered in March after a fisherman found a skull on an abandoned beaver dam on the city’s north side
• Indiana State Police used DNA analysis and the Combined DNA Index System to confirm her identity, while her cause and manner of death remain undetermined

Fort Wayne Seeks Public Input on Southeast Corridors Planning Project
• The City of Fort Wayne is asking residents to complete a survey about reimagining streets on the southeast side before the end of June.
• The Southeast Corridors Planning Project covers about 8.9 miles of roadways including S. Anthony Boulevard, W. Paulding Road, E. Paulding Road, Fairfield Avenue and Tillman Road, and E. Tillman Road.
• The U.S. Department of Transportation funded initiative aims to create safer and more connected routes for people walking, biking, using transit, and driving.

Fort Wayne Official Says Google Data Center Is Meeting Agreement Requirements
• Community Development Director Jonathan Leist said three resolutions introduced by City Councilman Russ Jehl contain factual errors and were drafted without input from his office.
• Leist said Google has exceeded its agreement benchmarks by creating 85 full-time jobs, investing more than $3.5 billion, and paying average wages above 159% of the Allen County average.
• The city expects data center related TIF revenue in southeast Fort Wayne to reach $900,000 in 2026 and up to $3 million by 2028, while Leist said he is open to collaborating on a revised oversight board proposal.

Fort Wayne Unveils New Public Sculpture In Harvester Neighborhood
• The City of Fort Wayne unveiled a new sculpture called "The Garner" at Rea Park in the Harvester Neighborhood
• Created by artist Sasha Primo, the installation features six ascending metal arches inspired by the neighborhood’s industrial history and future growth
• The project is part of the Shout-Out: Fort Wayne initiative, which highlights the history and identity of local neighborhoods through public art

Downtown Projects Slowly But Surely Making Progress
• The Fort Wayne Redevelopment Commission approved steps tied to the Scottish Rite Theatre redevelopment and the Riverfront Project.
• The Scottish Rite Theatre project, recently purchased by Surack Enterprises, is moving toward renovation and reopening with about $48 million in estimated costs and an 18-month timeline.
• The Riverfront Project resolution allows the city to begin utility planning work and coordinate with American Electric Power for future development.

Fourth Of July Parade To Feature 122nd Fighter Wing Flyover
• Two F-16 jets from the 122nd Fighter Wing will kick off Fort Wayne’s Fourth of July parade with a flyover
• The parade begins at 10 a.m. on July 4 and will travel north on Calhoun Street from Creighton Avenue to Main Street
• Applications to participate in the parade are open through June 15 at 11:59 p.m.

Trooper, Off-Duty EMS Chief Credited With Saving Life Of Driver Who Crashed During Medical Emergency
• An Indiana State Police trooper and an off-duty EMS chief responded to a truck that veered off Union Chapel Road near Coldwater Road around 2:30 p.m. Saturday.
• The driver appeared to be experiencing a medical emergency, prompting the responders to perform CPR and use an AED.
• The driver is recovering in the hospital, and officials did not release the identities of the driver, trooper, or EMS chief.

Allen County Drug Court Marks 60th Graduation Ceremony
• The Allen County Drug Court held its 60th graduation ceremony on Monday in Fort Wayne.
• Graduates in the program collectively achieved more than 500 months of sobriety and completed over 6,000 hours of treatment.
• One graduate, Calvin Jackson, said he has remained sober since 2023 and now works at Oxford House helping others in recovery.

Fort Wayne Neighbors Rescue Older Woman From Burning Home
• Neighbors in the Mount Vernon Park neighborhood pulled an older woman from her burning home before firefighters arrived Saturday evening
• A group of residents broke a window to reach the woman, and one neighbor carried her out of the smoke-filled house unharmed
• Firefighters found heavy fire in the attic of the home on Gaywood Drive and continue to investigate the cause

Beckwith Cancels Allen County Town Hall
• Indiana Lt. Gov. Micah Beckwith’s scheduled Allen County town hall in Fort Wayne has been canceled due to a last-minute conflict.
• The event was planned for Monday at the downtown library and was intended to focus on community-based issues.
• Beckwith’s office said the town hall will be rescheduled at a later date after the cancellation.

Iran And US Reach Initial Deal To End War And Reopen Strait Of Hormuz
• The United States and Iran agreed to an initial framework to extend a ceasefire and reopen the Strait of Hormuz.
• The agreement is expected to be signed in Geneva, but officials said it will not take effect until formal signing.
• Israel is not part of the deal and says it will continue military operations in Lebanon, raising uncertainty over implementation.
