ACA Health Insurance Premiums Projected toJump Again in 2027
• Insurers are proposing an average Affordable Care Act premium increase of about 14% for next year, according to a new KFF analysis.
• Rising healthcare costs, inflation and the expiration of enhanced federal premium subsidies are driving the requested rate increases.
• ACA enrollment has fallen by about 3 million people this year, marking the program's first significant decline since it launched.

Why it matters here:
Higher premiums could make health insurance less affordable for many families, especially those who no longer qualify for enhanced federal financial assistance.
