🚗 Greater Fort Wayne Crime Stoppers is hosting its 10th annual Rock the Fort Car Show on Saturday, August 2, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The event will take place at a new location: 555 Grand National Drive, next to Kelly Buick. The car show supports the work of Greater Fort Wayne Crime Stoppers. Read more from WANE 15 here.

👶 Dollbaby Daycare is holding open enrollment events to help families prepare for the school year. The first session happened Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m., with a second event planned for next Sunday, August 3. Parents can tour daycare locations and enjoy light refreshments. 🍩 After a year of operation, ‘tiny little donuts’ is closing its downtown Fort Wayne shop at 123 W. Main St., citing low retail traffic. In a now-deleted Facebook post, the business thanked customers for their support and confirmed the decision allows them to focus on expanding elsewhere. Director Jacob Guge shared plans to grow both locally and nationally. The Maysville Road Airstream location will remain open, and a drive-thru is in the works. 📚 The Allen County Public Library wrapped up its summer feeding program by handing out food-filled backpacks to local families. In partnership with Blessings in a Backpack, the initiative filled weekend meal gaps left by the library’s weekday lunch service. Executive Director Jama Ross highlighted the urgent need, stating over 70% of kids in Fort Wayne Community Schools are food insecure. The summer program fed more than 11,000 children and is expected to return next year. Read more from WFFT here.

🥫 Community Harvest Food Bank is receiving over $202,000 from the State of Indiana to support families facing food insecurity. The grant is part of a $2 million statewide initiative directed by the Department of Agriculture. President and CEO Carmen Cumberland emphasized the importance of the funds amid a 23% spike in demand and a drop in donations. The money will help stock pantry shelves and keep vital programs like Helping Hands running strong. Full story from WANE here.

🚧 A sewer force main gave way Thursday night beneath Ardmore Avenue near Engle Road, causing a major road collapse. The hole in the pavement quickly expanded, prompting closures on Ardmore and the eastbound lane of Engle. Detours are in place via Nuttman Ave, Brooklyn Ave, and Bluffton Rd. Crews began repairs Friday, but there’s no timeline yet for reopening. Read more from WANE here.

📺 PBS Fort Wayne is dealing with a 42% drop in revenue following a $1 billion cut in public broadcasting funds. New President & CEO Ed Leon is leading efforts to rebuild through community partnerships and creative approaches. Despite the financial hit, Leon said the station is not going anywhere and has seen a 600% increase in donations in the past week. Read more from WANE 15 here.

🔌 Around 1,400 residents in southern Allen County lost power Sunday afternoon due to substation issues. Heartland REMC shared the outage update on Facebook and confirmed that crews were working on-site to restore service safely and quickly. 🚔 Fort Wayne Police are investigating a shooting and stabbing that happened around 2 a.m. Sunday at Double Down Sports Bar, near Taylor and Paul Streets. Two people were injured, one walked into a hospital, and both are expected to recover. The investigation is ongoing. Read more from WANE 15 here.

🌳 A man died after crashing into a tree on Butler Road Saturday night. Around 7:40 p.m., police and Animal Care and Control found the car on fire in the 2300 block. The driver was trapped inside and later died at the hospital after being rescued. Speed and wet roads may have been factors. The crash is under investigation. Read more from WANE 15 here.

 The TinCaps couldn’t recover from Friday’s tough loss, falling 7-0 to the Cedar Rapids Kernels Saturday night. Fort Wayne gave up seven runs on six hits and committed three errors, while failing to capitalize on scoring chances—going 0-for-6 with runners in scoring position. Cedar Rapids’ Justin Connell and Luke Napleton each had two RBIs. The TinCaps aim to avoid a series loss in Sunday’s 2:05 p.m. finale at Veterans Memorial Stadium. Read more from WANE 15 here.
