A beautiful summer day ahead! Expect mostly sunny skies with just a few passing clouds. Highs reach 87°F with low humidity at 59% and a gentle breeze from the west-northwest. The UV index is very high, so sunscreen is a must if you're spending time outdoors. Monday night stays mostly clear and comfortable, with a low around 67°F. Winds remain light and humidity rises slightly. A great night to enjoy the outdoors.

🥒 The St. Joe Pickle Festival returns July 17–19 at 6127 IN-1 in St. Joe, Indiana. The three-day event is packed with pickle-themed fun for the whole family. Read more from WANE 15 here.

🧀 Mac & Cheese Fest is back at Parkview Field on Saturday, July 19 from 3 to 8 p.m. The event will feature over 30 mac and cheese dishes, live music, beer and cider tastings, and a kids’ zone. VIP tickets offer early entry and extra perks. Read more from WANE 15 here.

🚘 The Old Fort Mustangers 42nd annual Mustang and Ford Car Show is happening Saturday, July 19 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Ivy Tech Community College. Spectators get in free, and the event helps give back to the community. Read more from WANE 15 here.

🦆 Thousands of rubber ducks will race down the river during the IRIS Duck Race on Saturday, July 26 at Promenade Park. The event runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., with the duck drop at noon, plus food trucks, games, music, and family fun. It supports early intervention programs for local families. 🏥 Lutheran Health Network has opened a new 15,700-square-foot facility in southwest Fort Wayne, offering family medicine, lab work, imaging, x-rays, 24 exam rooms, and and the waiting room holds 70 patients. Medical providers at the new location offer care to patients of all ages. Community tours start Monday at 4 p.m. at 1215 Healthcare Place. Read more from WANE 15 here.

📬 A Fort Wayne juror fears for her safety after receiving a handwritten letter from Donte Curry, a man she helped acquit of murder in 2023. Curry, now in prison for a drug conviction, sent the letter directly to her home after getting her address from court files. Officials say juror info was mistakenly included in discovery documents due to a clerical error. An internal investigation is underway, and the Clerk’s Office says new safeguards will be added. Hundreds gathered at Kreager Park for Wildcat Baseball’s Mr. Mac Day, celebrating the season and honoring founder Dale McMillen Sr. This year brought back an old tradition with former MLB player Josh VanMeter speaking to young players. The event aims to give kids of all skill levels a chance to play and has run every year since 1961, except during the pandemic. Read more from WANE 15 here.

🐶 Indiana’s new “anti-puppy mill” law took effect July 1. It requires pet stores, breeders, and brokers to register with the state and face random inspections. The law defines a commercial breeder as one with over 19 unaltered female dogs and a broker as someone selling at least 500 dogs per year. Fort Wayne Animal Care & Control says the law lacks funding for enforcement and overrides local rules that banned pet store dog sales. Officials still urge people to adopt or research breeders carefully. Read more from WANE 15 here.

🏙️ The City of Fort Wayne held its third public meeting on the Waynedale 2040 plan, gathering ideas from over 200 residents on topics like housing, parks, and neighborhood quality. There is still a chance to express your opinion as they are holding one more public meeting on July 24 at the Willow Creek Crossing Apartments Clubhouse. The final plan is expected by summer 2026. 🚗 A man is in life-threatening condition after crashing into the Wayne Trace roundabout Friday morning. Deputies say he was speeding and weaving on Adams Center Road before hitting the curb, going airborne twice, and ending up in a wheat field. The crash is under investigation by the Allen County Sheriff’s Department. Read more from WANE 15 here.

The TinCaps beat the Quad Cities River Bandits 11-8 in front of their ninth sellout crowd of the season. Brandon Butterworth went 4-for-5 with two homers and three RBIs, while Braedon Karpathios had four hits and three RBIs.
