The Fort Wayne Update

🌤 Today’s Weather

Monday, July 13
Hi – 89° Low – 67° | ☀️ Sunny → 🌙 Clear
A beautiful summer day is in store with mostly sunny skies and pleasantly warm temperatures topping out near 89°F. Light east-northeast winds of 5–10 mph and lower humidity will make it feel much more comfortable than recent hot and muggy days. The very high UV index means sun protection is still important during the afternoon despite the pleasant conditions. Clear skies take over after sunset, leading to a comfortable evening and a refreshing overnight low around 67°F.

🦅 One National Story

Largest Housing Affordability Bill Becomes Law Without Trump’s Signature
• The bipartisan housing bill became law automatically after President Donald Trump declined to sign or veto it within the required 10-day period.
• The law aims to improve housing affordability by encouraging homebuilding, limiting large corporate landlords from buying more single-family homes, and reducing costs for manufactured housing.
• The legislation does not provide new federal housing funding, and experts say any impact on home prices will likely take years to be felt.

Why it matters here:
High housing costs continue to affect communities across the country, and any increase in housing supply or lower construction costs could eventually improve affordability for homebuyers and renters.
