Thursday will be mostly sunny with light winds from the north-northwest and a high of 84°F. Humidity will sit around 65%, and the UV index will be very high. The night turns partly cloudy with a low near 64°F and increasing humidity at 78%. Winds shift to the northeast.

✈️ Thunderbirds and more prepare for Fort Wayne Air Show
The US Air Force Thunderbirds are rehearsing for this weekend’s Fort Wayne Air Show. Other acts include Para-commandos, Franklin’s Flying Circus, and a pyrotechnics show. Gates open at 9 a.m.; shows start at 11. Read more from WANE 15 here.

🔥 Auburn fire ruled arson; two minors charged
Two juveniles intentionally set fire to a playground near Auburn Crossing Mobile Home Park on July 3 using burning notecards. The fire caused over $75,000 in damage. Both confessed and apologized. Charges are pending. Read more from WANE 15 here.

🚧 Fairfield Ave. paving project begins near downtown
Fairfield Avenue will be repaved from Washington Blvd to West Masterson Ave starting Wednesday. Work runs daily from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. through the week. Drivers should expect delays or take alternate routes. Read more from WANE 15 here.

🦒 Fort Wayne Zoo unveils new attractions for summer
The Fort Wayne Zoo introduced new features this summer, including a milking cow statue, expanded Nature Play area with a dig pit and rock wall, and swan paddle boats on the Central Zoo pond. Read more from WANE 15 here.

🏠 Fort Wayne homes no longer affordable for average household
Median income in Fort Wayne is $66,648, while the median home costs $236,317. Affordability issues stem from rising construction costs and investor demand. Inventory is growing but still below ideal supply levels. Read more from WANE 15 here.

🚧 Lane closures coming to U.S. 27 near I-469 for bridge work
INDOT will begin bridge joint repairs on southbound U.S. 27 near I-469 starting July 14. The left lane between East Ferguson Rd and Thompson Rd will close for about two weeks. Read more from WFFT here

Food Pantry Volunteers help sort, pack, and distribute food while ensuring a welcoming environment. Tasks include stocking shelves, checking expiration dates, and assisting clients. Opportunities are available at 12 Fort Wayne locations. Read more from Volunteer Fort Wayne here.

🕯️ Teen homicide victim identified in Fort Wayne shooting
Found shot at Columbia and Harrison Streets early Saturday. He was pronounced dead at a hospital. The death was ruled a homicide, the 21st this year in Fort Wayne and Allen County. Read more from WFFT here.
