Clouds will increase through the day with scattered showers developing during the afternoon. Temperatures reach near 51°F with steady south southwest winds adding a damp feel. Tonight turns wet with periods of rain and possible freezing rain early, then lighter rain overnight as temperatures settle near 41°F.

One Person Injured In Three Vehicle Crash In Southern Fort Wayne
• A three vehicle crash occurred Wednesday afternoon near the intersection of Bluffton and West Ferguson Roads.
• Police said an SUV crossed into the southbound lane, struck two vehicles, and came to rest near Brookwood Golf Course.
• The driver was hospitalized with non life threatening injuries and no other injuries were reported.

Active Police Investigation Behind Salvation Army Ends With Arrest
• Multiple police and fire vehicles responded behind the Salvation Army Corps Community Center on North Clinton Street.
• Investigators focused on a passenger vehicle during the response, according to a WANE 15 crew at the scene.
• Police said the incident involved a man with multiple arrest warrants who was apprehended.

Australian Steel Producer Rejects Acquisition Offer From Steel Dynamics
• Steel Dynamics and SGH Ltd. submitted a bid to acquire the North American assets of BlueScope.
• BlueScope’s board unanimously rejected the unsolicited and non binding proposal, saying it significantly undervalued the company.
• BlueScope’s chair said the board has rejected similar offers multiple times and believes the company is worth far more.

SACS Board Unanimously Approves Plan For Potential ACPL Relocation Site
• Southwest Allen County Schools approved a memorandum of understanding with the Allen County Public Library to explore relocating the Aboite Library.
• The plan would place a new library on the Summit Middle School campus with SACS retaining land ownership and leasing it to the library.
• The proposed move is part of ACPL’s broader modernization effort and no final location decision has been made.

Community Foundation Of Greater Fort Wayne Opens 2026 Scholarship Applications
• The Community Foundation of Greater Fort Wayne has opened applications for its 2026 scholarships.
• Students can apply for more than 75 opportunities using a single Universal Scholarship Application.
• Most applications are due April 1, with some earlier deadlines and options available outside the universal process.

FWACC Receives $10K Grant From Community Foundation Of Greater Fort Wayne
• Fort Wayne Animal Care and Control received a $10,000 grant from the Community Foundation of Greater Fort Wayne.
• The funding will support the shelter’s pet retention assistance program, which ran out of funds by fall last year.
• Grant money will help cover vaccines, microchips, ID tags, spaying and neutering, and limited medical or behavioral services for eligible pet owners.

City Of Fort Wayne And Urban League To Host Fair Housing Series
• The City of Fort Wayne and the Fort Wayne Urban League will host a fair housing series during Black History Month.
• The series includes free weekly screenings of a four part documentary every Wednesday in February at the Allen County Public Library theater.
• Each screening will include discussion, with the final session featuring a panel connecting the film’s themes to Fort Wayne.
• According to city and community leaders, screenings for the documentary will be held downtown at the Allen County Public Library’s theater, and attendees are encouraged to reserve a seat here.
