Former Van Halen Lead Singer Scheduled For Fort Wayne Concert In June
• The former Van Halen lead singer will perform in Fort Wayne this summer.
• The show is set for June 11 at the Foellinger Theatre.
• Tickets go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. and will be sold online and at the Fort Wayne Parks and Recreation Department.

Fort Wayne Nonprofit Urges Prevention after Rise in Child Abuse Deaths
• The Indiana Child Abuse Report for 2024 shows investigators reviewed 276 child deaths, with nearly 60 linked to abuse or neglect.
• Iris Family Support Center CEO Dee Szyndrowski said many families lack support systems and need help accessing community resources.
• Szyndrowski said prevention starts with reaching out to local programs and encouraging families to seek help without fear.

Two Men Charged In Violent Robbery Outside Fort Wayne Rescue Mission
• Manford Meadows and Jeremy Dean were charged with Level 3 felony robbery after attacking a man outside the Rescue Mission early Tuesday.
• The men assaulted the victim with sticks, kicked him, and stole $20, alcohol, and a pair of Beats headphones.
• Police located the suspects with the victim’s help and confirmed the robbery with surveillance footage; the victim’s injuries were not life threatening.

15 Year Old Fort Wayne Boy Faces Attempted Murder Charge
• A 15 year old boy was waived to adult court on an attempted murder charge tied to a life threatening August shooting.
• He is also charged with aggravated battery and residential entry with the three felonies carrying a potential sentence of nearly 60 years.
• A second teen arrested in the case was not waived to adult court and no initial hearing date has been set.

Fireworks Light Up Early Morning Sky Near Glenbrook Mall
• A fireworks display was seen near Glenbrook Square mall early Tuesday morning and was partially captured on video by a motorist.
• The video was recorded around 7 a.m. near the intersection of Clinton Street and Coliseum Boulevard and shared on Facebook.
• Police found a firework remnant near Parnell Avenue and said the reason for the display is unclear, though it may be related to Epiphany.

Winter Night Fun At Promenade Park
• Promenade Park is hosting Play in the Park Winter Nights every Tuesday throughout January.
• Activities include board games, group challenges, video games, trivia, murder mystery, virtual reality, and Dungeons and Dragons.
• The series is a partnership with FortLAN and is open to all ages at no cost.

Komets Trade Zach Jordan To Maine For Lynden McCallum
• Fort Wayne Komets traded Zach Jordan to the Maine Mariners in exchange for Lynden McCallum.
• McCallum previously played for the Komets and scored 34 points in 43 games between the regular season and playoffs.
• Jordan scored 28 points in 50 games with the Komets since joining midway through the 2024-25 season.

Novo Nordisk’s Wegovy Obesity Pill Hits U.S. Pharmacies
• The FDA approved the pill Dec. 22 for obesity and reducing heart attack and stroke risk.
• Pharmacies are stocking the starter dose now, with higher doses available later this week.
• The pill costs $149 monthly for starters and $299 for higher doses, with side effects similar to injections.
