Bomb cyclone set to hit Southeast, with potential snow and coastal flooding in Northeast
• A rapidly intensifying storm is expected to bring heavy snow, strong winds, and possible blizzard conditions to the Southeast this weekend.
• Central and eastern North Carolina and southern Virginia could see half a foot or more of snow, with gusts up to 60 mph causing low visibility and power outages.
• Coastal flooding, high surf, and beach erosion are likely along the East Coast, while the Northeast may see a glancing blow or light snow depending on the storm’s path.
Why it matters here:
The storm could disrupt travel, power, and daily routines across a wide area, and residents should prepare for hazardous conditions and potential flooding.
