A cold and mostly cloudy day is on tap with temperatures reaching near 38°F. A steady SW breeze will make it feel a bit chillier, so keep the warm layers handy. As night falls, clouds hang around with a chance of a few snow showers early, then skies gradually turn partly cloudy after midnight. Overnight lows dip to around 29°F, keeping that late-winter chill in the air.

Letter Carriers Rally in Downtown Fort Wayne Ahead of USPS Contract Talks
• The National Association of Letter Carriers held a rally Sunday from 1 to 3 p.m. on the Allen County Courthouse lawn.
• Organizers say the event comes as contract negotiations with the United States Postal Service are set to begin.
• Local carriers and community members gathered with signs and flags to call for a fair contract.

Indiana State Police Respond to Several Crashes as Roads Become Snow-Covered
• Indiana State Police reported responding to at least five crashes simultaneously around 8:30 p.m. Sunday near Fort Wayne.
• Two crashes occurred within two miles on I-69 northbound just outside the city; one involved at least one injury at the 306-mile marker.
• A multi-vehicle crash at the 308-mile marker closed two right lanes temporarily; no injuries were reported.
• Roads became slick Sunday night despite minimal snow accumulation, and vehicles were observed losing traction.
• The role of snow in the crashes has not been confirmed.

Portion of Barr Street Closed for Water Service Work
• Barr Street is closed between E Washington Boulevard and Wayne Street starting Monday, Feb. 23.
• The closure is to allow installation of new water service.
• City Utilities says the road will remain closed through the end of the week.

Fort Wayne Man Sentenced to Four Years for Child Porn Possession
• Richard Konger pleaded guilty to possession of child pornography and inappropriate communication with a child.
• He was arrested in May 2025 after the Fort Wayne Police Department received a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
• Konger will serve four years in prison, and previous charges of child solicitation and exploitation will be dropped.

Former Northeast Indiana Officer Pleads Guilty to Rape
• Conner Esmond pleaded guilty to raping a woman in her Fort Wayne home in 2023.
• He agreed to a nine-year sentence, including three years in prison and six years suspended, plus three years of probation.
• Esmond previously worked as a confinement officer in Allen County and as a patrol officer in Bluffton and Dunkirk.
