Ivy Tech Fort Wayne Offers Free Heart and Blood Pressure Screenings
• Event will be held Feb. 25 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Room CC1662B on the Coliseum Campus.
• Students nearing completion of the EKG Technical Certificate will provide free 12-lead EKGs.
• Blood pressure checks will also be available, and participants can take EKG results to their doctor.

Fort Wayne City Council Eyes Security Pay Raise, Tests New Public Comment Time
• Public comment at City Council meetings has moved to the first and third Tuesdays, before final votes, instead of at the end of longer meetings.
• The new schedule allows citizens to address specific bills and shortens longer meeting days.
• Council also discussed and recommended pay raises for security officers at Citizens Square and the Public Safety Academy.

City of Fort Wayne Hosts First Open House for Waynedale 2040 Plan
• Residents gave input on priorities such as sidewalks, connectivity, and neighborhood safety during the first of two open houses.
• Department of Neighborhoods officials say over 800 people have already participated through surveys and events.

Mild Weather Causes Potholes Across Fort Wayne
• Rapid temperature changes have caused water in roads to freeze and melt, creating potholes around the city.
• City crews are working long hours to fill potholes, but fixes may reopen after rain.

Judge Approves Gag Order in Bishop Luers Lawsuit

Be a ‘Game Changer’ for Big Brothers Big Sisters
• Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northeast Indiana is hosting its annual Bowl For Kids’ Sake fundraiser, themed “Game Changers” this year.
• Teams of five can register for free; each member is asked to raise $100 ($500 per team). Options also include Kids’ Champs ($5,000) or Super Teams ($2,500).
• All proceeds support one-on-one mentorship for local kids, with over 300 currently on waitlists across 10 counties.

$50,000 Powerball Ticket Sold in Fort Wayne Nearing Expiration
• Winning ticket was purchased at Lassus Handy Dandy on Coldwater Road for the Sept. 6 drawing.
• The Powerball Double Play numbers for that drawing were 11-23-44-61-62 with a Powerball of 17.
• Ticket must be claimed by 4:30 p.m. on March 5 at the Hoosier Lottery Prize Payment office in Indianapolis.

18-Year-Old Arrested Following String Of Robberies At Fort Wayne Businesses
• Officers identified 18-year-old Riyana Harris as the suspect in multiple thefts, including an armed robbery at Khai’s Fusion on Feb. 4.
• Police recovered a large quantity of stolen merchandise from her vehicle, including clothing, dog treats, and Valentine’s Day items.
• Harris was booked into Allen County Jail facing criminal trespassing and felony armed robbery charges, while a juvenile in the vehicle faces unrelated theft charges.
