📰News
🎉 The Fairfield is hosting its free “Holiday Glow Bash” this Friday from 9 p.m. to midnight. The Pinhouse Social event gives Fort Wayne residents a downtown spot to spend time with family while enjoying a live DJ mixing pop and holiday hits all night. For more information about the Fairfield and this event, click here. Read more from WPTA 21 Alive here.
🍗 Pepper & Spice Jamaican Restaurant is giving back this Christmas by serving free meals to the Fort Wayne community. Starting at 3 p.m. on December 25, guests can pick up meals at 1815 W Main St., either via drive-thru or inside the restaurant, while supplies last. Each meal includes a choice of Brown Stew Chicken, Curry Chicken, or Fried Chicken, with a side of rice and beans. The restaurant has served free meals on Thanksgiving and Christmas in past years and is also collecting donations to support areas in Jamaica recovering from Hurricane Melissa. 🛍️ Stoner’s Funstore, a beloved Fort Wayne novelty shop, was vandalized on Christmas Eve, damaging a window. The shop shared the news on Facebook, urging the community to support local businesses, especially during the holidays. The broken window is expected to be replaced before the store reopens Friday morning. Patrons are encouraged to visit and shop to help the store recover from the incident. 🍽️ NineHouse, a Fort Wayne Southeast Asian restaurant, offered free meals to the community as a final goodbye before closing. Owner Ezra Kokonaing shared that she started the business in 2018, but is stepping away to support her husband after a severe stroke. The complimentary Christmas meals were meant to give back to the community that supported them. A new restaurant, Chef Denny’s House, will open at the same location in the second week of January, continuing many of the Southeast Asian flavors customers loved. If you would like to donate to the Kokonaing family, click here. Read more from WPTA 21 Alive here.
💡 Blue Jacket Fantasy of Lights is hosting an additional “Mission Monday” on Dec. 29 to help those who can’t afford admission. Vans from shelters, homes, and churches will transport people to enjoy the holiday light displays. So far this season, about 1,020 people have received free entry. Blue Jacket emphasizes that offering joy through its lights and supporting the community is central to its mission, even as event costs have risen significantly. Read more from WPTA 21 Alive here.
🐾 Humane Fort Wayne marked a joyful milestone on Christmas Eve, celebrating their 3,000th adoption and starting pickups for their Rovernights program. Early in the morning, families lined up to adopt a new litter of three-month-old Great Dane/Mastiff puppies, all four of which found homes that day. The Rovernights program allows dogs to leave the kennel temporarily for the holidays, reducing stress and giving them comfort while providing insight into their behavior in a home setting. Demand for the program was high, with spots filling quickly after Thanksgiving. Read more from WANE 15 here.
Last Time the Market Was This Expensive, Investors Waited 14 Years to Break Even
In 1999, the S&P 500 peaked. Then it took 14 years to gradually recover by 2013.
Today? Goldman Sachs sounds crazy forecasting 3% returns for 2024 to 2034.
But we’re currently seeing the highest price for the S&P 500 compared to earnings since the dot-com boom.
So, maybe that’s why they’re not alone; Vanguard projects about 5%.
In fact, now just about everything seems priced near all time highs. Equities, gold, crypto, etc.
But billionaires have long diversified a slice of their portfolios with one asset class that is poised to rebound.
It’s post war and contemporary art.
Sounds crazy, but over 70,000 investors have followed suit since 2019—with Masterworks.
You can invest in shares of artworks featuring Banksy, Basquiat, Picasso, and more.
24 exits later, results speak for themselves: net annualized returns like 14.6%, 17.6%, and 17.8%.*

🏐 Bailey Sinish and her mother, head coach Pandy Sinish, have led Carroll High School volleyball to unprecedented success over the past four seasons. From 2022-25, the Chargers went 127-13, including a 50-match win streak, and captured back-to-back 4A state championships, earning national recognition. Bailey, an outside hitter, set a school record with 1,808 kills, 175 blocks, 167 service aces, and 854 digs, and was named Miss Volleyball by the Indiana High School Volleyball Coaches Association. She credits her teammates and her mother for her achievements as she prepares to play at IU Indianapolis. Coach Pandy Sinish continues to weigh her future with the program, leaving Carroll well-positioned with returning key players. Read more from WANE 15 here.
