🏒 ECHL players have voted to authorize a strike, putting the Fort Wayne Komets’ Dec. 26 home game against the Indy Fuel at risk if negotiations stall. The Professional Hockey Players’ Association says the vote gives its bargaining committee leverage to pursue a new contract after the previous agreement expired June 30, with player pay and working conditions among key issues. The league has warned a work stoppage could begin as early as Dec. 26, though a strike is not guaranteed and talks are ongoing.
