🎄Local holiday events across Northeast Indiana shut down Saturday as a winter storm brought heavy snow. Parkview Field’s Holiday Lights, Headwaters Park Ice Skating Rink and Winter Market, Wild Lights at the Fort Wayne Zoo, Fantasy of Lights at Franke Park, and the Steuben County Christmas Parade all closed temporarily. Holiday Lights tickets from Saturday can be used later this season, and the Winter Market has been rescheduled for December 6. Berne Christkindlmarkt and Miracle on Jefferson at The Sidecar remain open. The list will continue to update as conditions change. Read more from WANE 15 here.

🎄The Festival of Trees has returned for its 41st year at Fort Wayne’s Embassy Theatre, featuring 63 decorated trees throughout the historic venue and the old Indiana Hotel. The event runs through December 3, with tickets available online or at the box office. Read more from WANE 15 here.

🌙The Embassy Theatre is hosting a one-night-only “Midnight Madness” popup event, offering a late-night view of the Festival of Trees with dimmed lights and more than five dozen glowing trees. The event runs from 11:30 p.m. to 2:30 a.m. and includes haze, special lighting effects, surprises, and open bars and concessions. Tickets cost $15 and must be purchased onsite. 🍰16-year-old Gabi Thornton runs Treats by Gabz, a dessert business she started six months ago. She has sold over 250 mini cheesecakes, cakes, and cookies and recently sold 80 treats in 80 minutes at a school showcase. Gabi balances baking with school and athletics, using baking as a creative outlet and stress relief. Her motto, “better mind, better health,” encourages self-care and enjoyment. ❄️The City of Fort Wayne Street Department is converting tanker trucks used for leaf pickup into snow plows ahead of a snow event predicted from Saturday through Sunday. Residents are urged to use off-street parking so trucks can plow close to curbs. The city has 18 snow routes with priority streets plowed first for safe travel. Clearing priority one and two streets usually takes 10–12 hours after snow stops, while residential streets may take up to 48 hours. Read more from WANE 15 here.

⚠️A man died and another was injured after a stabbing at Piere’s Entertainment Center in Fort Wayne early Friday morning. Police say a fight occurred around 1:40 a.m., and one man died at the scene while the other was taken to a hospital with minor injuries. Officers are reviewing surveillance footage, interviewing witnesses, and searching for a suspect. 🔫 Police are investigating a shooting on E. Washington Blvd., just east of Coliseum Blvd in Fort Wayne. Officers responded around 3:20 p.m. in the 4600 block. No information on injuries has been confirmed, and updates are expected as the investigation continues. Read more from WANE 15 here.

🏀🏈Sports🏒

🏈 Bishop Dwenger won the 4A state championship, defeating Roncalli 36-29 at Lucas Oil Stadium. The game featured seven lead changes and was decided on the final play when Carter Zent intercepted a pass in the end zone. The Saints scored key touchdowns by Max Jordan, Jordan Fabini, and Gus Tippmann, with a trick play 37-yard touchdown pass from Lucas Nguyen to AJ Shefferly in the fourth quarter.
