Trump Highlights Fort Wayne Kidnapping at Border Event

Former President Donald Trump accused Vice President Kamala Harris of overseeing a "nation-wrecking" border invasion during a news conference in Arizona. He linked her policies to violent crimes allegedly committed by illegal immigrants, emphasizing a series of brutal incidents involving foreign nationals across the U.S.

Burrito chain opens Fort Wayne location

Hot Head Burritos has opened its first Fort Wayne location at 3120 St. Joe Center Road. The Ohio-based chain offers customizable burritos, bowls, tacos, and more, with hours from 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily. Previously, the nearest locations were in North Webster and Van Wert, Ohio.

Three-month Carroll Road closure

Road work on Carroll Road in Huntertown, initially set to begin on Monday, August 21, has been delayed until Monday, August 26. The project, involving a trail extension and curb improvements between S.R. 3 and Shearwater Run, will close this section of Carroll Road through the end of the year.

Tuberculosis case identified in Fort Wayne Community Schools

A Fort Wayne Community Schools individual has been diagnosed with tuberculosis, according to the Allen County Department of Health. Those at potential risk have been contacted, with free TB testing offered. The risk to students and staff is low, and the health department is taking necessary measures to address the situation. Westwood North residents upset over new business

A new truck driving school by Tri Area Trucking is set to open in Fort Wayne's Gateway Plaza, despite opposition from nearby residents concerned about property values. The school plans to offer hands-on training for small class sizes, with a focus on providing high-paying job opportunities for the community. Full Story Here

Gourmet cinnamon roll shop featured on ‘Shark Tank’ to open in Fort Wayne

Cinnaholic, a vegan-friendly bakery, is set to open in Fort Wayne on August 30 at 407 Coliseum Blvd W. Offering gourmet cinnamon rolls and more, the grand opening features $2 Old Skool Rolls, a DJ, and face painting. Follow them on Facebook for updates and a chance to win free rolls for a year.

Could a casino be coming to New Haven

New Haven may soon host a casino, as Full House Resorts considers relocating its Rising Star Casino Resort from southeastern Indiana. This potential move, aimed at boosting revenue and tourism, aligns with Mayor Steve McMichael's vision for New Haven. Details will emerge after the 2025 State Legislative Session.
