📦 Community Harvest Food Bank hosted its first annual Volunteer Appreciation Dinner on Thursday to honor the over 3,000 volunteers who contribute nearly 41,000 hours of service. The event celebrated their compassion and dedication to helping meet local needs. Read more from WANE 15 here.
🍦 The Berry Ice Cream will soft open Friday and Saturday at Union Street Market, offering real fruit and dairy ice cream with a unique berry twist. Owner Edwin Chow was inspired by flavors he discovered during deployment overseas. Read more from WANE 15 here.
🚔 Indiana State Police are investigating the death of an inmate at the Allen County Jail after a medical emergency early Friday morning. The man was found unresponsive and later pronounced dead. The coroner will determine the cause. Read more from WANE 15 here.
🚧 Work on a six-mile stretch of I-69 in Fort Wayne will begin Sunday, with crews resurfacing asphalt and making highway improvements between mile markers 311 and 317. Intermittent lane closures and reduced speed limits are expected through October. Read more from WANE 15 here.
🚓 The Fort Wayne Police Department will be featured on the reality TV show "COPS" Friday at 6 p.m. on Fox Nation, highlighting the department’s Air Support Unit with Officers Michael Hickman and Troy Waidelich. Read more from WANE 15 here.
🏃♂️ The Fort Wayne Marathon and Half Marathon by Ruble Racing kicks off Sunday at 8:00 a.m., starting at the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum, weaving through downtown and the Rivergreenway, with a finish at the Coliseum parking lot, with more races to come this year.
