🧠 Allen County Library hosting Lincoln mental health & brain mystery events

The Allen County Public Library is honoring the Lincolns with a free exhibit on Mary Todd Lincoln’s mental health and a lecture exploring the mystery of President Lincoln’s missing brain. Read more from WANE 15 here.

🕵️‍♀️ 1972 Allen County mother‑daughter murder solved

A 1972 Indiana cold case has been solved. DNA and genealogy linked Fred Allen Lienemann, now deceased, to the murders of Phyllis Bailer and her daughter, ending a 53-year mystery. Read more from WFFT here.

💙 Crime Stoppers founder remembered by co‑workers and family

Gregg Gerding, who founded Greater Fort Wayne Crime Stoppers in 1983, is being remembered by coworkers and family for his impact on community safety. He helped launch the local program and fostered trust between residents and law enforcement. Read more from WANE 15 here.

👕 Fort Wayne native’s design worn by Pacers’ Aaron Nesmith

IU senior Jenna Reed, a Fort Wayne native, won a fashion competition to design a tunnel outfit for Pacers player Aaron Nesmith, drawing inspiration from koi fish and Nesmith’s style. Read more from WANE 15 here.

💰 New Indiana tax law promises relief

Indiana’s new property tax reform offers homeowners savings but raises concerns from local officials and educators about cuts to essential services and school funding, with impacts expected to grow after 2028. Read more from WANE 15 here.

🏛️ Indiana Senate passes $46.8 B budget for next two years

🌱 Registration opens for free tree seedlings

The City of Fort Wayne is offering free tree seedlings to residents. Registration is available online until April 23, and pickup will be April 25 at the Parks & Recreation greenhouse. Quantities are limited. Read more from City of Fort Wayne here.
